the weather gets worse but the GRANDMAS get better!

Grandma and Granny have had a great few days.

Grandma had the blood transfusion and seems to be doing much better. Although her blood level went up slightly with the transfusion, as hoped, Dr. Rice may still want to do a round of chemo (as she has done in the past). She is enjoying her visitors and FINALLY getting to take a shower! We are all in high hopes that she will be released and home for this beautiful weekend we are supposedly going to have.

Granny is doing much better on her medicine. BUT, the most exciting news is that she has realized she is no longer allergic to chocolate. If you know my family at all, you know we all have a sweet tooth. (Granny's fault) She said that the chocolate just looked so tempting the other day that she was just going to go for it and suffer the consequences for a few scrumptious bites that she has been without for about 15 years. She ate it an nothing happened pain-wise. Needless to say, Granny is elated and at almost 98 years old she said she could care less about her figure. That's the attitude... bring on the deliciousness!

thank you Jesus for healing and chocolate and all the happiness that both of them bring! mmm mmm mmm

Private Room for ONE, please!

Hey guys! Thank you all so much for your prayers! God was certainly listening, as always!

Grandma (as she's asked the nurse to call her) is doing much better today! While I was there, she was approved to have a private room, so my cousin Lindsey and I packed her up and she is literally moving on up to floor 8 of Methodist Hospital! It will be so nice for her to not be in the surgical ICU anymore and she can't wait to take a shower! She is most likely going to have to have another blood transfusion because of her disease, Cold Agglutinin Disease, a rare blood disorder. Your continued prayers are such a blessing to my family!

A Leslie List

All my life I have LOVED lists! In college I truly got into the habit of making lists of everything.... groceries, movies I want to see, books to read, restaurants within 5 minute driving distance... LISTS MAKE MY WORLD GO 'ROUND!

So here is my latest list of books I've read

January
Witness
Blue Bloods
Rules
Seeds of Hope
Artichoke's Heart

February
Boy at War
Whirligig
Coraline
The Lightening Thief
The Sea of Monsters
A Corner of the Universe
The Magic Finger

March
The Titan's Curse
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The Masquerade
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

And Currently... Uglies

So go read... it's gonna be rainy for the next few days so grab a good book and some hot chocolate :)

Now to go mark some things off a list that really matter... the never ending cleaning list.
