Sunflowers, Smiles & Second-helplings

Last night Chris and I got to hang out with this wonderful family.
We had a DE-lish summer pasta that I inhaled... really I don't think I've ever gone back for that many helpings in my life.

I made sunflower cupcakes and my favorite little miss makes them look even sweeter!
Her response upon finishing her cupcake...
"Can Adelaide have more?"
"No, just one."
"But Adelaide loves icing."

Thanks McCords for a great evening of yummy foods, cute kids, giggles, and registry help for a future momma in need.

a long day for doggie

Sawyer went to the vet today because his parents are hypersensitive to every little sneeze and scratch due to their other 2 doggies. Good news, he's fine and just has allergies. He has what his mom calls high-maintance shampoo and a little pill he takes with peanut butter.

After the vet, Sawyer got to meet his cousins Bella and ZsaZsa. He loved them and in time, they will learn to love him.

This evening he went on a long walk and came home exhausted and just wanting to curl up with his dad.

best buddies

Izzie and Sawyer

These best buddies got to spend the day together sniffing around, sharing chew bones, snoozing, and just being together.

Here are some other best buddies that I love!

love these people and can't wait to add baby hokie to that last pic!

crafty-ness!

I finally stopped using my craft desk as a clothing table (that's what the ironing board's for right?) and organized it as much as you can organize crafty knick knacks. :)

Can't wait to use these......

to make an awesome bumper pad for Baby Hokie. I just really don't like all the super pale baby stuff that is everywhere so I decided to make the stuff myself.... we shall see how it goes!

un mango grande

 :)

Baby Hokie,

114 days until you're here! I've been telling you to stay in there the whole time because you're easier and cheaper to take care of in there. But no worries, I'm dying to meet you and can't wait till you occupy your own space ;) This week I'm working on your bumper pads and crib skirt. You room finally has some changes in it which basically just means it's no longer a storage room. You kick up a storm now and your dad and I love to watch you banging up and down on my stomach. Your dad's eyes get really big every time you give me a good punch. Today is Father's Day and your father loves you. Sawyer doesn't know what to think of you yet.

You're about a foot long now and a little over a pound. Your grandpa (Papa John) liked that your fruit size comparison this week was a large mango.... oh just wait till you meet your Costa Rican family... they will try to feed you all sorts of weird stuff. Get excited! ;)

It's so fun to get to call you by your name now and I can't wait to say it to you and monogram it all over your stuff :) We love you and know that we are already praying for you and your sweet life to come!

Love,
Momma and Dad

more than half way there!

Dear Baby Hokie (who now actually has a name ;)),
You're about a foot long now and you like to kick me all the time. You weigh about a pound and I am getting even more excited to meet you. This past week I bought all the fabrics to start decorating your room. Unfortunately, the room is still a mess but getting there! I have started your chair cover that I will rock in you for hours and I can't help buying books for you all the time! I read them to you at night and you kick away. This week the new thing is that you kick me higher up on the top of my stomach instead of just low. I love you and again, can't wait to meet you!
Love,
Momma

meet sawyer!

Sawyer Hokanson

he's a major fan of sleeping ON pillows... spoiled already

he also likes to sleep like this

sweetness

Sawyer was found abandoned in a cotton field about a week ago. Chris and I thought about it for a long while before deciding to keep him just because of how emotional it was to loose our other two sweet dogs. We decided to keep him though... maybe against my better judgment....

He is part Terrier, part Chihuahua, part who knows. He's completely house-broken which I love and is kind-of-quickly learning"no" (thank goodness)!

Sawyer is a goofy little dog but I know he will soon get comfy and cozy and it will be like he's been here forever. :)
