This is the wonderful guy that comes home everyday with a smile and a hug for me. He cooks me dinner. He washes the dishes... thank God! He takes out all the stinky trash. And so much more.

He does so much for me and as if that is not enough, the cherry on top is little surprises that he brings home. I love surprises. I like flowers and stuff but he knows what I really love. This month me brought me J&K+8 seasons 1 and 2 one night after a Sams run in which he also proudly purchased the family pack of umbrellas (which we tried out immediately... all of them...). 

Surprise someone you love this week, it may mean more to them than you know. 

Silly Things

Here are two silly things that i treat myself to...

not tanning

not pedicures (occasionally)

not expensive clothing

1. nice wiper blades- for a little drizzle or a downpour, nice wiper blades make my driving experiences streak-free & clear which results in my all around being happier (while i'm yelling at the person in front of me to speed up) :)

2. paint- often and across the color spectrum. anyone who knows me is smiling as they read this... they know it's true. paint is completely temporary for me... it's like underwear, change it often and sometimes spice it up, no one likes tighty whities!

PS- do not google image search 'tighty whities'... or 'wiper blades' for that matter...

Yumm-ery Summer-y

Just thought I'd share a little summer recipe seeing as how everyday seems to be getting warmer. It's almost pool time!  

Strawberry Salsa 

1 cup of Strawberries 

1/4 cup chopped red onion 

1 jalapeno pepper (seeded and chopped) 

2 Tbsp Cilantro (chopped) 

1 Tbsp orange juice 

1/2 Tbsp Lemon juice 

1 Tbsp EVOO Salt & Pepper to taste  

Mix everything together and serve with chips! I like scooping a little into those Tostitos scoop chips. Very yummy and summer-y! Enjoy!

So, I was watching What About Bob? and was inspired to write what two types of people exist in my world.

Bob's are people who like Neil Diamond and people who don't.

There are two types of people in my world... Those who like Harry Potter and other fantasy books AND those who can't separate reality from fiction and think readers of such literature are now prone to wizardry or sith fighting. 

What two people exist in your world?

You know you're a grown up WHEN...

For decades, maybe even eons, adults have had one battle in common... WHO'S GOING TO PAY?

"No, I'm getting this" is the response of any true adult when that inevitable moment comes at the end of an outing... the bill. 

There are several options for a reply:

"Are you sure?" is the appropriate response. There is also the tried and true "OK" response but it's not said like a normal OK. It is a long drawn out Ok like ohhhhhh-K. (A quick "thank you" is also necessary with both of these responses.) 

If you choose to say nothing in reply the payee will likely pay but perhaps do so a little less happily. 

Of course then there is the promise that you're then getting that person's next meal. 

I was the "Are you sure?" and "Ohhhhh-k, thank you" -er TWICE yesterday.

So thank you Lynn for lunch and thank you Kelly for dinner...  I'm getting your next meal!
